Fun... :)

Journal Entry: Mon May 18, 2009, 9:03 PM

.: David Star Photography :.

So I've been on here for about a week now and everyone is making me feel right at home. I owe everything to Serena, even the way my style of work has evolved. We have been together for 3 years so all I really know is what she does... Yeah it has a slightly different feel to it but essentially it is not necessarily a knockoff, but a branch off of her brand. We do work together after all. I think that as I get more experience as a photographer, I'll find my niche :)

David Star is a fresh name entering the industry. After spending several years learning about the industry, he has taken the plunge into the photography world. Dave has had an artistic background in many forms of art. As a child, he was often taken out of normal classes to take special drawing classes. He was always surrounded by art and grew up with a creative eye. As he grew older, he took an interest in music and began teaching himself instruments such as the guitar, bass, keyboards, trombone, Turkish & Egyptian hand drums, and vocals. During highschool, Dave was enrolled in a special Art Academy. He spent a lot of time before and after school working on projects. Although Serena was enrolled in the Drama academy program which was also hosted at the same school, she often spent time in the art room with artistic friends and thus the two met.

Late June 2005, Dave severed his fingers at work and had to have them reattached. The doctors felt he would never fully recover from the incident, but dave refused to give up his artistic dream. His passion for art and music drove him to force himself to play guitar again after only 3 months of intense rehabilitation. There is nothing that can hold him back from what he loves. Partnering up, Serena and Dave make an awesome team.

Hiya, a slightly late DA-welcome! I'm here cuz Serena said so (well ok not really but her journals heavily suggested that people take a look ;)).
I'm honestly not sure if I'm here to watch now because of your well done sample gallery or your inspiring finger cut-off story.

Either way, hope to see more of your images (and that you get to keep your fingers in this line of work).

Not a problem. I think nature is beautiful and you do a beautiful job of capturing that. Most of the subjects in those pictures will live very short lives, but they wont be forgotten thanks to your appreciation :)
